1. Scope and law

This policy applies to personal data processed in connection with the Clip Services website, marketplace, and related communications. Processing is carried out in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

“Personal data” means information that identifies or could identify a living individual. “Processing” includes collecting, storing, using, and sharing that information.

2. What we collect

We only collect personal data that is necessary to operate the marketplace and to communicate with you.

2.1 Customers (bookings and enquiries)

When you make a booking or enquiry, we may process: your name, email address, telephone number, and service address (or other address details needed to arrange the service).

2.2 Service providers (applications)

When you apply to list or offer services on Clip Services, we may process: your name, email address, telephone number, postcode or area, and details of the services you wish to offer (including any free-text you submit in an application form).

2.3 Technical and message data

Our hosting and application infrastructure may process limited technical data needed to deliver the site (for example identifiers or logs associated with requests). Where you contact us via WhatsApp Business, Meta processes message content and related metadata in line with its own terms and privacy notices; we receive and store what you send us in that channel as described below.

3. Why we use your data and legal bases

Under UK GDPR we rely on the following bases, as appropriate to the activity:

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.

4. Who we share data with

We share personal data only where necessary:

Some processors may process data outside the UK. Where that occurs, we ensure a valid transfer mechanism under UK GDPR (for example adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, as applicable).

5. How long we keep data

We retain personal data for up to twelve (12) months after your last interaction with Clip Services (for example last booking, last message, or last application update), unless a longer period is required by law or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

After that period we delete or anonymise personal data where practicable. Technical logs retained by infrastructure providers may have shorter or different retention controlled by those providers’ policies.

6. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or alteration, having regard to the nature of the processing. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; if we become aware of a serious breach affecting your rights, we will notify you and the Information Commissioner’s Office where required.

7. Cookies and tracking

Clip Services does not use cookies on this site for analytics or advertising, and we do not deploy third-party tracking pixels as standard.

If we add tools such as Google Analytics in future, we will update this policy and, where required, obtain consent before any non-essential cookies or similar technologies are used.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the following rights, subject to conditions and exemptions:

To exercise any of these rights, contact soniaotikpa@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within one month in most cases, or inform you if we need longer.

9. Supervisory authority

If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection:

https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/

We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern.

10. Children

Clip Services is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will be revised when we make material changes. Continued use of Clip Services after updates means you acknowledge the revised policy where required by law.
