Community First
Every product decision starts with the people we serve — African, Caribbean and Asian shoppers and the independent traders behind them. The platform reflects how communities already buy: by trust, by trader, by neighbourhood.
🚀 Launched in Manchester · Expanding UK-wide from 2027
Manchester’s digital marketplace for African, Caribbean and Asian independent stores — built locally, scaling nationally.
Clip Services launched in Manchester in 2026 — the UK’s first dedicated digital marketplace for African, Caribbean and Asian independent stores. We are starting deep in Manchester’s diaspora communities before expanding UK-wide. Built locally. Scaling nationally.
African, Caribbean and Asian retail in the UK is a network of independent stores and market traders that has built community trust over decades — yet most still operate almost entirely offline. In Manchester, a shopper looking for plantain in Longsight, jerk seasoning in Moss Side, halal lamb on the Curry Mile in Rusholme or ankara fabric in Cheetham Hill typically has to drive across town, scroll through unrelated social posts, or rely on word of mouth. Stores cannot easily reach customers beyond their immediate street.
Mainstream platforms have not solved this. Big-box delivery apps charge 25–30% commissions and prioritise high-volume chains; generic marketplaces have no concept of cultural relevance, halal sourcing, or community trust. The traders who deliver these products to UK households are profitable, sophisticated business owners — what they lack is a single online front door customers can actually find.
Clip Services fills that gap. We list stores on a single, searchable, mobile-first platform with secure Stripe payments, WhatsApp order updates, and sensible fees designed for thin-margin grocery and speciality retail. We are deliberately starting in Greater Manchester — one of the UK’s richest African, Caribbean and Asian high-street ecosystems — and will expand carefully once onboarding and delivery tools are proven with local traders.
Sonia Chidinma Otikpa is the founder and technical lead of Clip Services Ltd. She built the platform independently from her base in Manchester, drawing on technical training from Auraclass Academy and her MSc in International Business from the University of Salford. Sonia leads all product development, store onboarding, and platform strategy.

We do not operate a 25–30% commission model. Clip Services charges a small subscription and a fair transaction fee designed for grocery and speciality retail margins so that traders keep more of every sale.
We list stores that serve their communities authentically rather than diluting offers for mass-market appeal. Categories, search and discovery are built around the products people actually look for — not generic supermarket taxonomies.
